Woman's body, chopped into 31 pieces, unearthed from pit in Odisha
Nabarangpur, Nov 26: In a gruesome incident, authorities unearthed the dismembered remains of a young woman, chopped into 31 pieces, from a pit in the Raighar area of Odisha's Nabarangpur district on Saturday.
The victim, identified as Tila Gond from Bagbeda village, had been missing since Wednesday. Law enforcement officials discovered the body in a pit within the Murumdihi forest near Gona village, under Raighar police limits. Subsequently, the victim's family filed a complaint, alleging that someone had murdered her and buried her remains.
In connection with the case, the police have detained two individuals. A case has been registered under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Raighar police station. Aditya Sen, SDPO, Papdahandi, stated that the investigation is ongoing.
