Over 1.01 crore women to receive fifth Subhadra Yojana instalment on Rakhi Purnima
Bhubaneswar, July 10: The Odisha Government has intensified preparations for the disbursement of the fifth instalment of the Subhadra Yojana, with more than 1.01 crore women identified as eligible beneficiaries. The financial assistance will be credited to beneficiaries' bank accounts on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Friday reviewed the implementation of the flagship welfare scheme during a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan. She directed all district administrations to complete the verification and disposal of applications pending for field enquiry by July 25, 2026, ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left out.
Parida instructed officials to conduct daily reviews of pending cases and closely monitor the verification process to ensure timely and error-free fund transfers.
According to official data, 1,15,75,633 applications have been received under the scheme, including 3,17,966 new applications during the 2026-27 financial year. After scrutiny, 1,02,04,396 women were initially shortlisted. However, following field verification, 5,277 applicants were found to have passed away, bringing the final list of eligible beneficiaries to 1,01,99,119.
The meeting also reviewed DBT activation, biometric e-KYC, NPCI mapping, bank coordination and preparation of payment files. Officials said Rs 20,648.63 crore has already been transferred to more than one crore women through four instalments. The government also informed that all 2,68,396 grievances received under the scheme have been successfully resolved, reflecting its commitment to efficient and transparent implementation.
