OUSSSC to complete SI recruitment examination by October, assures transparent process

Bhubaneswar, July 1: The Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC) has announced that the recruitment examination for Sub-Inspector (SI) posts will be completed by October this year. OUSSSC Chairman Rashmi Ranjan Swain on Wednesday assured aspirants that the fresh recruitment process would be conducted in a fair, transparent, and error-free manner.

Addressing a press conference, Swain said the State Government has introduced comprehensive safeguards to prevent any irregularities during the examination. The fresh recruitment drive comes after the previous SI examination was cancelled in late 2025 following allegations of a question paper leak.

He stated that all candidates who were eligible for the earlier examination would be allowed to appear for the fresh test. Aspirants who have crossed the upper age limit during the intervening period due to the cancellation will also be given an opportunity to participate, ensuring that no candidate is deprived because of the delay.

Swain clarified that there will be no change in the number of eligible applicants, while the examination pattern, syllabus, and selection procedure will remain the same as originally notified.

"The government is committed to conducting a fair, transparent, and irregularity-free examination. Every necessary measure has been taken to ensure the recruitment process is completed smoothly and credibly," he said.

The announcement has brought relief to thousands of aspirants who have been waiting for the recruitment process to resume. With enhanced security arrangements and stricter monitoring mechanisms in place, the OUSSSC aims to restore confidence in the examination system and complete the SI recruitment process within the October deadline.
