BJD calls high-level meeting at Sankha Bhawan on June 10
Bhubaneswar, June 8: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has convened a crucial high-level meeting of party leaders on June 10 at its state headquarters, Sankha Bhawan, in Bhubaneswar, amid efforts to strengthen the organisation ahead of upcoming local body and Panchayat elections.
According to a press release issued by the party, the meeting will begin at 4 PM and will be attended by all leaders who contested the recent general elections as BJD candidates or candidate nominees. Party president Naveen Patnaik has directed all concerned leaders to remain present without exception.
Sources within the party said the meeting is expected to focus on a comprehensive review of the BJD’s performance in the 2024 elections and discuss key organisational issues. Senior leaders are likely to deliberate on strategies for revitalising the party structure and enhancing coordination between different organisational units.
A major agenda item will be the implementation of the SIR programme announced earlier by the party leadership. Discussions will also be held on the formation and strengthening of organisational committees at the block, municipal and grassroots levels to ensure greater outreach and engagement with voters.
Party insiders said the gathering will provide leaders with an opportunity to directly interact with Naveen Patnaik and share feedback on political developments and local issues. The BJD president is expected to assess the ground situation across districts and seek suggestions from party functionaries.
With Panchayat elections drawing closer, political observers view the meeting as a significant organisational exercise aimed at rebuilding the party’s grassroots network and preparing for future electoral challenges in Odisha.
