CM Mohan Majhi begins three-day Gujarat visit to attract investments
Bhubaneswar, May 5: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday embarked on a three-day visit to Gujarat from May 5 to 7, as part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to attract investments following successful outreach programmes in Hyderabad and Kolkata.
During the visit, the Chief Minister is scheduled to tour four major cities, engaging with entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders to position Odisha as a preferred investment destination. A key highlight of the tour will be an investor roadshow in Ahmedabad on May 5, which will include roundtable discussions and one-on-one meetings with leading industrialists. These interactions are expected to result in the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and generate fresh investment proposals.
According to official sources, Odisha will showcase opportunities in high-potential sectors such as textiles and apparel, chemicals and petrochemicals, metals and downstream industries, as well as pharmaceuticals and medical equipment.
The delegation will also visit Mundra Port on May 6 to explore prospects in port-led development, logistics, and allied industries. On May 7, an investors’ meet is scheduled in Vadodara, followed by a visit to Kevadia.
The high-level delegation includes Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and senior officials. Majhi expressed confidence that the visit will boost investments, create jobs, and accelerate Odisha’s economic growth trajectory.
