Subhadra Yojana relief: Over 1.23 lakh women receive pending installment
Bhubaneswar, May 4: In a major relief for beneficiaries, 1,23,849 women who were earlier deprived of the third installment under the Subhadra Yojana have received their financial assistance today.
According to official sources, more than ₹61 crore has been directly credited to the bank accounts of these women. The beneficiaries had missed out on the payment, which was released on March 8 on the occasion of International Women’s Day, due to technical glitches and verification-related issues.
Following a fresh round of scrutiny and field-level verification, the pending amounts have now been successfully disbursed to eligible applicants. Officials said the process ensured that only genuine beneficiaries received the assistance.
Meanwhile, the government has intensified efforts to clear remaining pending cases. Field verification of nearly one lakh additional applications is currently underway, and authorities expect further disbursements in the coming days.
Sources also revealed that the scheme continues to witness strong response, with over 3.26 lakh new applications already received so far.
The latest disbursement is seen as a significant step towards ensuring financial support reaches intended beneficiaries and strengthening the implementation of welfare initiatives aimed at women empowerment in the state.
