Noted film producer and industrialist Rabi Swain Passes away at 75
Bhubaneswar, April 7: Renowned Odia film producer, industrialist, and social worker Rabi Swain passed away early this morning while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. He was 75.
Swain had been battling liver-related ailments for some time and was under medical care at the time of his demise. His passing has left a deep void in both the film industry and social circles in Odisha.
He was known for producing several acclaimed Odia films, including ‘Jora Jara Mulaka Tara’, ‘Ki Heba Shua Poshile’, ‘Panjuri Bhitare Sari’, and ‘Udandi Sita’, which earned wide appreciation from audiences across the state. His contribution played a significant role in enriching Odia cinema.
Beyond films, Swain was a respected educationist and philanthropist. He founded institutions such as the Kshetramohan Memorial Trust, Om Shanti College of Science and Technology, Kshetramohan ITC, and Daitari ITC, contributing to education and skill development.
His demise has cast a pall of gloom over Pipili and beyond. Several leaders and well-wishers have expressed condolences, remembering his contributions and extending support to his bereaved family.
