Late-night firing in Balasore leaves two youths critically injured, panic gr87ips locals
Bhubaneswar, Mar 24: Tension gripped Balasore after two youths sustained critical injuries in a late-night firing incident at Arada Bazaar under Sahadebakhunta police limits on Monday. The shocking incident has once again raised concerns over rising gun violence in the area.
The injured have been identified as Manoj Kumar Sahu and Kartik Prasad, both residents of the Nua Bazar locality. According to preliminary reports, unidentified miscreants opened fire at them, leaving both victims severely wounded on the spot. Locals rushed to their aid and immediately informed the police.
The victims were first taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Balasore for emergency treatment. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, they were later shifted to FM Medical College and Hospital for advanced care, where their condition remains critical.
Police officials suspect that the attack may be linked to past enmity, though the exact motive is yet to be confirmed. An investigation has been launched, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the attackers.
Meanwhile, recurring incidents of firing in Balasore have created fear among residents, with many demanding stricter law enforcement measures.
