Class IX girl suffers critical burns after falling into boiling water in Jajpur
Bhubaneswar, Jan 12: A 14-year-old Class IX student sustained critical burn injuries after accidentally falling into a vessel of boiling water at her home in Nathapur village under Dharapur Gram Panchayat of Bari block in Jajpur district on Monday. The incident has shocked the local community and raised concerns over household safety, especially during winter.
The injured girl has been identified as Simran Dalei. According to family members, Simran was heating water early in the morning to take a hot bath before leaving for school, as temperatures have dipped in the region. While handling the vessel, she reportedly experienced sudden dizziness and vertigo, lost her balance and accidentally fell into the container filled with boiling water.
Hearing her screams, family members rushed to the spot and immediately shifted her to the Bari Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors provided first aid and emergency treatment. Considering the seriousness of her burn injuries, the doctors referred her to the Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for advanced medical care.
Hospital sources said Simran has sustained severe burns and her condition remains critical. A team of doctors is closely monitoring her health and providing necessary treatment.
