Bargarh Police crack Ghulipali murder case, three accused arrested
Bhubaneswar, Jan 5: The Bargarh Town Police have successfully solved the brutal murder case that sent shockwaves through the Ghulipali area, arresting three persons in connection with the crime. All the accused have been produced before the court following their arrest.
The victim, 26-year-old Chandan Kumar Raut, was found lying in a pool of blood with his throat slit near a Hanuman temple at Ghulipali on January 3. The gruesome discovery triggered panic in the locality and prompted an intensive police investigation.
During the probe, police arrested Sumit Suna, Suman Urma, and Abhishek Patra for their alleged involvement in the murder. Investigators recovered crucial evidence from the accused, including the knife used in the crime, a mobile phone, and a car reportedly used to execute the murder.
According to Bargarh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Padarabindu Tripathy, preliminary investigation has revealed that the murder stemmed from a love affair, though further details are being examined to establish the exact sequence of events and individual roles.
The swift action by the police has been widely appreciated by local residents. Officials said the investigation is still underway to ascertain all circumstances surrounding the crime, while the accused have been forwarded to judicial custody.
