Three missing students from Sambalpur residential school found safe after day-long search
Bhubaneswar, Nov 24: Three students who had gone missing from the girls’ hostel of a tribal residential school in Govindpur, Sambalpur district, were successfully traced after an intensive day-long search operation carried out by the police. The girls were found in Saida, a location in the Kuchinda area, bringing much relief to their families and school authorities. However, the reasons behind their presence in Saida and how they reached there remain unclear.
The matter came to the fore when the hostel warden noticed their absence and promptly lodged a complaint with the police. According to reports, the girls had been missing since around 4 pm on Sunday. When they did not return to the hostel even late into the night, the warden escalated the issue, prompting the police to launch an immediate probe.
Multiple police teams were mobilized, and a search operation was initiated across nearby areas. After hours of sustained efforts, the students were located safely. Police officials stated that the girls are in stable health, though a medical examination will be conducted as part of standard procedure. Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances that led to their disappearance.
