Bhubaneswar, Oct 18: A 17-year-old girl from Bihar was discovered late Friday night on a roadside in Ashok Nagar, under the Capital police station limits, in a critical condition. She was found writhing in pain with multiple injuries after allegedly being gang-raped and abandoned.

The victim was spotted groaning in agony by local auto-rickshaw drivers, who immediately contacted the authorities and helped rush her to Capital Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Upon arrival, doctors confirmed the teen had been sexually assaulted and admitted her to the ICU. Her condition remains critical, and she was barely able to speak, though she managed to inform the medical staff that she hails from Bihar.

The Capital police have swiftly registered a case under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. An intensive investigation is now underway, with officers actively scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify the perpetrators. A manhunt for the accused is in progress, and simultaneous efforts are being made to trace and contact the victim’s family in Bihar. The community has been left shaken by the heinous crime.
