CM Majhi lays foundation stones for ₹1,101 crore projects in Nuapada; declares Khariar Road as municipality

Bhubaneswar, Oct 6: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday visited Nuapada district and laid the foundation stones for a series of development projects worth around ₹1,101 crore. During a massive public meeting held at the Mini Stadium in Nuapada, the Chief Minister also announced the upgradation of Khariar Road Notified Area Council (NAC) to a municipality and declared Komna and Sinapali as new NACs, fulfilling a long-pending public demand.
Majhi highlighted that out of the total investment, ₹802 crore will be dedicated to strengthening irrigation infrastructure in Nuapada, aimed at improving agricultural productivity and ensuring better water management. Additionally, ₹75 crore has been earmarked for various welfare and infrastructure projects in the district.
Reiterating the state’s commitment to inclusive growth, the Chief Minister said the central government will extend full support to accelerate the region’s progress. “Nuapada has immense potential for development, and its hardworking people deserve better facilities,” he remarked.
He further added that the Nuapada–Thirubally railway project is progressing steadily and will boost connectivity and economic activity in western Odisha. This marked his third visit to Nuapada since assuming office.
