Bhubaneswar, Oct 6: In a tragic incident, Debasish Patra, son of Ghasipura MLA and senior BJD leader Badri Narayan Patra, sustained serious injuries after the car he was travelling in overturned near Nahangi Square under Ramchandrapur police limits in Keonjhar district on Monday.

According to reports, the accident took place when the vehicle reportedly skidded off the road, lost balance, and overturned into a nearby field. Passersby and local residents immediately rushed to the spot and helped rescue Debasish from the mangled vehicle. He was promptly taken to Anandapur Hospital, where doctors are providing necessary treatment.

Sources said Debasish suffered multiple injuries, though his condition is stated to be stable. The exact cause of the mishap is yet to be ascertained, and police have launched an investigation to determine whether speeding or a technical fault led to the accident.

As news of the accident spread, numerous locals, party workers, and well-wishers gathered at the hospital to inquire about his condition and extend support to the MLA’s family. Police have also deployed personnel at the site to manage traffic and ensure safety.
