Bhubaneswar, Sept 19: Renowned Odia music director Abhijit Majumdar, who has been battling serious health complications, is showing encouraging signs of recovery. After being on ventilator support for 14 days, doctors at AIIMS Bhubaneswar have successfully weaned him off, raising hopes among his fans and well-wishers.

According to the latest health bulletin released by AIIMS, Majumdar continues to remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where a dedicated medical team led by ICU and ECMO specialist Dr. Srikant Behera is monitoring his progress round the clock. A repeat brain MRI was conducted yesterday to assess his neurological condition, and doctors are closely observing the results.

Hospital authorities confirmed that Majumdar is gradually recovering from a severe pneumonia infection. Encouragingly, both his kidney and liver functions have improved, reducing the overall risk factors. Doctors expressed cautious optimism, stating that while his condition remains critical, the steady improvement is a positive sign.

The news of his gradual recovery has brought relief to his admirers, many of whom have been praying for his health and eagerly awaiting his return to music.
