Retired headmaster found dead inside locked room in Balasore

Bhubaneswar, Aug 20: Balasore witnessed a shocking incident on Wednesday after a 65-year-old retired headmaster, Banamali Sahu, was found dead inside his locked room at Nuahat village under Soro block. The mysterious circumstances surrounding his death have left the local community in deep shock and grief.
According to sources, Sahu had a history of frequent disputes with his son, which has fueled suspicion among villagers. On Tuesday night, he had dinner with family members before retiring to his room. However, when he failed to open the door the following morning despite repeated calls, neighbours grew concerned and alerted the police.
A team from Soro police station soon reached the spot and broke open the door, only to discover Sahu’s lifeless body inside. While some locals alleged possible foul play linked to family discord, police have stated that preliminary investigation does not strongly indicate homicide. The actual cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report is received.
Police have begun a detailed inquiry to unravel the truth behind Sahu’s untimely death, even as the incident has sparked intense discussion across the village.
