Uttarakhand tourist found dead in swimming pool at Dhenkanal eco resort

Bhubaneswar, Aug 16: A 23-year-old tourist from Uttarakhand was tragically found dead in the swimming pool of Satya Narayan Eco Resort at Sankarpur under Sadar police limits in Dhenkanal district on Saturday morning.
The deceased, identified as Tejas Ahuja, was part of a group of five friends who had checked into the resort on Friday evening. According to resort staff, the group had dinner at the in-house restaurant before retiring to their rooms late at night. However, the next morning, the friends were shocked to find Tejas’s body floating in the boating pool located behind their suites.
A distress call was made around 5 am, following which the local fire brigade team rushed to the spot and recovered the body. Preliminary reports suggest that the group may have been consuming alcohol the previous night, which could have played a role in the mishap, though the exact cause remains uncertain.
The body has been sent to Athagarh Hospital for post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, police have launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident, including whether it was an accident or involved foul play.
