Police seek 5-day remand for Hansita Abhilipsa in high-profile fraud case

Bhubaneswar, Jan 24: The Commissionerate Police are set to approach the court to seek a five-day remand of Hansita Abhilipsa and her accomplice, Anil Mohanty, who have been accused of duping several high-profile individuals in Odisha. The remand application will be filed in the JMFC court, as the Special Crime Unit intensifies its investigation into the duo’s alleged crimes.
Two cases have already been registered against Hansita, with additional allegations of her involvement in flesh trade. The accused were previously remanded, during which the police obtained critical information. Twin City Police Commissioner S. Debadatta Singh stated that the investigation team now aims to gather more details regarding their suspected role in human trafficking and will move to court to extend their custody for further interrogation.
Hansita and Anil were apprehended on December 31 by Bhubaneswar police for allegedly siphoning funds. They reportedly posed as the daughter and son-in-law of PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to execute their fraudulent schemes.
