Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: In a tragic accident, a police constable lost his life after being struck by an unidentified vehicle during his morning walk near Dulaguda on the Borigumma-Koraput State Highway No. 48 on Thursday. The deceased, identified as Pitambar Pujari, was a resident of Girla village in Kotapad block and served at the Borigumma police station.

Pujari, who was just six months away from retirement, was taking his routine morning walk when the incident occurred. The impact was fatal, and he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

The police have managed to identify the vehicle involved but are yet to apprehend the driver. The constable’s body was transported to the Borigumma health center, where his grieving family gathered after being informed of the tragedy.

An investigation has been launched, and efforts are underway to trace the driver responsible for the accident. The incident has left the local community in shock.
