Clash between two groups during Ganesh immersion leaves one dead in Cuttack
Bhubaneswar, Sept 11: A clash between two groups during the immersion of a Ganesh idol resulted in one death and three injuries at Dhurusia village, under Khuntuni police station in Cuttack district, on Tuesday night.
The injured individuals, whose condition is reported to be critical, have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
According to sources, the altercation erupted between groups from Gopal Sahi and Dhurusia villages during the immersion procession. The situation escalated into violence, with both groups using swords and sticks. Tragically, a minor boy was killed, and three others were injured in the clash.
Police arrived at the scene and detained two people in connection with the incident. With tension still high in the area, police forces have been deployed to maintain order and prevent further violence.
