Protests erupt over alleged corruption in OSSSC Group-C recruitment process
Bhubaneswar, Sept 10: Job aspirants staged a protest outside the Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) office in Bhubaneswar, accusing the commission of corruption in the recruitment process for Group-C posts.
The protesters alleged that several candidates with poor performance had suspiciously made it to the merit list of the Combined Examination for Group-C positions. They claimed that written exams for positions such as Forester, Forest Guard, and Livestock Inspector were being sold, undermining the fairness of the selection process.
The aspirants expressed their frustration over the lack of transparency, noting that the OSSSC had not released normalized marks or initiated an investigation into the alleged irregularities. They called on the Odisha government to intervene and cancel the exams for Forester and other posts. "We demand immediate government action to address this injustice and cancel the tainted exams," said one of the protesters.
