Father murdered by son in shocking incident in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, July 3: n a shocking incident, a man stabbed his father to death over a family dispute at an apartment in Rangamatia, under Mancheswar police limits in Bhubaneswar, on Wednesday.

The accused, identified as Anirudh Choudhury, a professor at a law college, allegedly killed his father, Sunil Choudhury, a retired Nalco officer.

Sources report that the altercation occurred early Wednesday morning. In a fit of rage, Anirudh stabbed Sunil without considering the consequences. Sunil succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital.

Upon receiving a tip-off, Mancheswar police arrived at the scene and sent Sunil’s body for a post-mortem. The police have detained Anirudh for interrogation.

Neighbors revealed that Anirudh lost his temper during the altercation and attacked his father. Despite his legal profession, his violent act has shocked the community.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Prateek Singh informed the media, "Preliminary investigations suggest that Anirudh was debt-ridden and depressed. The altercation arose when Anirudh demanded money from his father to repay his loan. When Sunil refused, Anirudh killed him in front of his mother. We will investigate further to determine the exact reasons behind the murder."
