Odisha CM files nomination papers for Kantabanji Assembly seat

Bhubaneswar, May 2: Odisha Chief Minister and leader of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Naveen Patnaik, officially entered the electoral fray for the Kantabanji assembly seat on Thursday, submitting his nomination papers.

Accompanied by 5T Chairman VK Pandian, BJD candidate for the Titlagarh assembly segment Tukuni Sahu, and senior BJD leader Ananga Udaya Singh Deo, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik led a spirited rally upon his arrival at the Titlagarh helipad.

The procession culminated at the Sub-Collector’s office, where Patnaik completed the formalities of filing his nomination papers for the Kantabanji assembly segment, marking his debut in this electoral constituency. After the completion of the nomination process, Patnaik promptly returned to Bhubaneswar.

His campaign schedule includes visits to Bhanjnagar, Polsara, Sankhemundi, and Sorda, where he will engage in an election rally on May 3rd.

Notably, just days earlier on April 30th, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had filed his nomination papers for the Hinjili Assembly seat, a constituency he has triumphed in five times since 2000. The voting for the Hinjili Assembly seat is scheduled for May 20th.
