Nomination process for third phase polls commences in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, April 29: Today marks the commencement of the nomination filing for the third phase of polls in Odisha, focusing on Lok Sabha constituencies. The process kicks off with the release of the official notification, initiating the nomination window which extends until May 6.
Nomination verification is slated for May 7, with May 9 set as the deadline for withdrawal of applications. Scheduled for May 25, the third phase of elections in Odisha encompasses six Lok Sabha seats and 42 Assembly seats.
This phase includes voting for constituencies such as Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri, and Bhubaneswar. Notably, all 42 Assembly seats under these six Lok Sabha constituencies will also be contested on the same day. A substantial voter turnout of 9,441,797 individuals is anticipated for this phase, comprising 4,826,000 male voters and 4,614,000 female voters, with an additional 35,764 new voters.
A comprehensive arrangement of 10,515 polling stations has been made to facilitate the electoral process, making this phase pivotal as it covers the maximum number of seats in the Odisha elections, spanning four phases in total.
