Bhubaneswar, March 16:  A tragic incident unfolded in the Laxmisagar area as a 25-year-old youth, identified as Anjan Behera from Chintamaniswar, lost his life in a gruesome attack stemming from a love triangle dispute.

According to Anjan's friend, Gautam Sahoo, the altercation ensued after prime accused Pinku summoned them for a meeting in Chintamaniswar in the early hours of Saturday. Pinku, along with five others including a girl, confronted them, leading to a sudden outburst of violence. Anjan was fatally assaulted with a sword while Gautam narrowly escaped.

Reports suggest that Pinku, known for his criminal record, was romantically involved with a girl from Chintamaniswar. However, Gautam's friendship with Pinku's girlfriend sparked jealousy, especially after Pinku's recent release from jail.

The confrontation escalated on Friday night when Pinku called Gautam for a discussion near his girlfriend's residence. Tragically, the meeting turned violent, resulting in Anjan's severe injuries. Despite efforts by locals to rescue him, Anjan succumbed to his wounds after being rushed to the hospital.

Police, led by Inspector In-Charge P. Shyam Sundar Rao of Laxmisagar police station, are actively pursuing the absconding suspects involved in the attack.
