IPS reshuffle in Odisha: Sanjeeb Panda appointed new Commissioner of Police

Bhubaneswar, Jan 24: Sanjeeb Panda has been designated as the incoming Commissioner of Police for Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, succeeding Soumendra Kumar Priyadarshi, according to a notification from the Home department on Wednesday.
Sanjeeb Panda, a 1994-batch IPS officer, presently serving as the Director Intelligence with an additional responsibility as CMD, OPHWC, will assume his new role.
The reshuffle, orchestrated by the state government, involves a total of 18 IPS officers who have been reassigned to different posts. Notably, Soumendra Kumar Priyadarshi, the outgoing Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, has been reassigned as Director Intelligence.
In another key change, Santosh Bala, a 1995-batch IPS officer and the current Special Secretary in the Home department, will continue to hold an additional charge as CMD, OPHWC.
Further, Himanshu Kumar Lal, a 2003-batch IPS officer, serving as IGP, Eastern Range, Balasore, has been transferred to the position of IGP, Northern Range, Sambalpur. His predecessor, Deepak Kumar, a 2004-batch officer, has been appointed as IGP, NCR, Talcher, with an additional charge as the Principal of PTC, Angul.
