Nandankanan Zoo authorities prepare for new animal arrivals in celebration of Foundation Day

Bhubaneswar, Dec 27: In anticipation of its foundation day on December 29, Nandankanan Zoo is making arrangements to welcome a cheetah, providing visitors with a thrilling experience starting from the New Year.
PCCF (wildlife) Sushant Nanda shared with the media that the zoo is set to receive several new additions, including cheetahs, white lion cubs, and various bird species, enhancing the allure of the city's zoological park.
Scheduled to arrive in January through an animal exchange program, the upcoming guests hail from different locations. Leopards and white lion cubs will be arriving from Dubai, while a giraffe is expected to join Nandankanan from the central zoo in Alipur, West Bengal.
With over 4,000 animals, birds, and reptiles housed in 212 enclosures, Nandankanan Zoo boasts a diverse collection comprising a total of 156 animal species. This initiative aims to offer both visitors and animal enthusiasts an enriching experience as they witness the introduction of these new and captivating additions to the zoo's vibrant ecosystem.
