Odisha Government effects major IPS reshuffle, six senior officers get new assignments
Bhubaneswar, Aug 21: The Odisha government on Friday effected a major reshuffle in the senior Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre, assigning new responsibilities to six senior officers across the state police, intelligence and specialised investigation wings.
According to a notification issued by the Home Department, 2003-batch IPS officer Himansu Kumar Lal, presently Inspector General of Police (IGP), Northern Range, Sambalpur, has been posted as IGP, Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Bhubaneswar, with additional charge of the Special Task Force (STF).
Similarly, 2004-batch IPS officer Satyabrat Bhoi, currently IGP, Northern Central Range, Talcher, and holding additional charge as Principal of Police Training College (PTC), Angul, has been posted as IGP, Intelligence.
Jai Narayan Pankaj, a 2005-batch IPS officer presently serving as IGP, Intelligence, Odisha, Bhubaneswar, has been transferred and posted as IGP, Southern Range, Brahmapur.
Meanwhile, 2007-batch IPS officer Niti Shekhar, currently IGP, Southern Range, Brahmapur, has been posted as IGP (Provisioning), Police Headquarters.
As part of the reshuffle, 2009-batch IPS officer Charan Singh Meena, presently DIG, Provisioning, has been posted as DIG, Northern Range, Sambalpur.
The government has also posted 2010-batch IPS officer Ashish Kumar Singh, who recently joined the Home Department following repatriation from central deputation, as DIG, Northern Central Range, Talcher, with additional charge as Principal, PTC, Angul.
The transfers and postings were ordered by the Home Department with the approval of the Governor of Odisha.
