Bhubaneswar, Dec 22: The Nandankanan Zoological Park, typically closed every Monday, is set to deviate from its schedule and remain open for the next two Mondays due to Christmas and New Year falling on these days.

In anticipation of a significant increase in visitors on these special occasions, the zoo has undertaken thorough preparations. To facilitate a smoother entry process and save visitors from queuing for tickets, entry tickets can be booked online or via WhatsApp. Additionally, temporary ticket counters will be set up to alleviate congestion at the permanent ticket counters.

Ensuring the safety of tourists, the fire department and medical teams will be on high alert. In anticipation of potential issues such as pickpocketing and disturbances, a police platoon will be deployed.

It's worth noting that the Zoo will observe closures on December 26 and January 2, as both these dates fall on Tuesdays, deviating from the usual Monday closures, as conveyed by the Zoo authorities.
