Gold trader attacked, 1 kg gold and Rs 20 lakh stolen in Rourkela

Rourkela, Dec 15: In a daring daylight robbery, assailants reportedly attacked a gold trader in Rourkela city, Odisha's Sundargarh district, stabbing him and making off with approximately 1 kilogram of gold and Rs 20 lakh in cash.
The incident unfolded near the Malgodam area in Rourkela earlier today. According to reports, the victim, identified as Pradeep Kumar Soni, was commuting home on a scooter with a friend when the criminals intercepted them. Subsequently, the perpetrators stabbed Pradeep with a knife before escaping with the stolen loot. Pradeep suffered injuries to his hand during the assault and promptly filed a complaint with the local police.
Upon receiving the report, law enforcement rushed to the scene, assessing the situation. An investigation has been initiated, with the police actively working to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for the heist.
