Odisha CM unveils state-of-the-art Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Government Hospital in Talcher

Bhubaneswar, Dec 8: In a momentous occasion, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the cutting-edge Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Government Hospital, a 330-bed medical facility situated in Talcher, dedicated to delivering specialized healthcare services. The inauguration ceremony was conducted via a video conference.
Expressing his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the invaluable support from the central government in establishing the hospital, Chief Minister Patnaik highlighted the pivotal role the institution is set to play in advancing healthcare and medical research.
During the ceremony, Chief Minister Patnaik underscored that the hospital serves as both a battleground and a cornerstone of self-reliance. Hailing from the sacred land associated with the eminent freedom fighter Pabitra Mohan Pradhan, he acknowledged Pradhan's significant contributions to the state's development post-independence.
Paying homage to the late leader, Chief Minister Patnaik emphasized that Pabitra Mohan Pradhan devoted his life to the cause of independence and played a substantial role in the state's progress. The inauguration of the hospital stands as a fitting tribute to his enduring legacy.
In his address, Chief Minister Patnaik reiterated the government's unwavering commitment to prioritizing healthcare services. He pointed out the notable increase in the number of medical colleges and healthcare professionals in the state in recent years. The Chief Minister also acknowledged the growing trust and preference of the public for government hospitals, resulting in a surge in patient footfall.
Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi, participating in the program, expressed the hospital's significance in providing healthcare services to Talcher and its residents. He noted Coal India's substantial contributions to the hospital and assured full support for transforming it into a medical college in the near future. Minister Joshi announced that Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) would contribute Rs 628 crores to support the hospital's management.
