Odisha Inspector's cash hoard surpasses Rs 37 lakh

Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: Additional revelations unfold in the case of Boipariguda IIC Susanta Satapathy as Vigilance officials unearthed an additional Rs 25 lakh in cash from his possession on Tuesday.
The cash, discovered in bundles of Rs 500 and other denominations, was found in his government quarters at Buxi Bazar in Cuttack during the Tuesday morning searches. This comes on the heels of Monday's discovery of Rs 7.5 lakh in cash from Satapathy. The combined total of cash seized from him now stands at Rs 32.5 lakh.
According to reports, the Vigilance conducted the raid after receiving information about Satapathy's journey from Boipariguda to Cuttack on a private bus, suspecting the presence of ill-gotten cash.
Satapathy was intercepted by an Odisha Vigilance team near Jeypore on Monday, during which approximately Rs 2,70,000 cash was recovered from his possession. However, he could not provide a satisfactory explanation for the source of this money.
