Cash-loaded ATM stolen with JCB in Odisha's brazen robbery
Balasore, Nov 27: In a daring robbery attempt, unidentified individuals employed a crane to steal an ATM, making off with a substantial sum of money in Bahanaga tehsil, located in Odisha's Balasore district on Sunday.
According to reports, the perpetrators utilized a JCB to uproot and extract the SBI ATM, breaking through the door of the kiosk that housed the cash dispensing machine in Bahanaga market. Following the theft, they fled the scene with the stolen cash.
Local residents discovered the damaged kiosk in the morning and promptly alerted the police. Preliminary investigations indicate that the ATM was forcibly removed with the aid of a crane. The stolen amount is estimated to be over Rs 26 lakh, and an ongoing investigation is being conducted, according to official sources.
