Odia film producer Sanlisa Patel calls off hunger strike amid OFDC Chairman's assurances

Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: Filmmaker Sanlisa Patel, who launched an indefinite hunger strike in Bhubaneswar to advocate for the Odisha government's support to the state's entertainment industry, concluded her protest on Saturday after receiving assurances from OFDC chairman.
Chairman Kuna Tripathy of the Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC) visited the protest site at Lower PPMG, engaging in discussions with Sanlisa. Tripathy committed to organizing a meeting with stakeholders on November 28.
In response to these assurances, Sanlisa ended her hunger strike, accepting fruit juice offered by Tripathy. Actor and MP Anubhav Mohanty also met with her at the protest site. However, the filmmaker informed the media that the protest would continue until the promised meeting with the OFDC chairman occurs. She underscored that if the issues persist unresolved at the meeting, the agitation would intensify.
Numerous actors, producers, directors, photographers, scriptwriters, and technicians from the Odisha film industry actively supported Sanlisa, participating in the protest. Sanlisa voiced her commitment to seeking justice for the film industry and remained hopeful that the challenges affecting filmmaking in the state would be promptly addressed.
