5T Chairman assures safe rescue of Odia workers trapped in Uttarkashi tunnel

Bhubaneswar, Nov 25: 5T Chairman VK Pandian on Saturday held a meeting today with the relatives of Odia workers who have been trapped inside the Uttarkashi Tunnel for the past thirteen days.
The meeting, conducted at Naveen Niwas, saw assurances from Pandian to the family members that the trapped workers would be rescued safely. The state government has arranged for the travel of the family members to Uttarkashi today.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around the various efforts undertaken by the government to ensure the safety of the Odia workers. The 5T Chairman conveyed that all the trapped Odia workers inside the tunnel are safe, and the government is actively monitoring the situation.
Notably, among the forty-one workers trapped inside the Uttarkashi Tunnel, five are from Odisha. The state government has dispatched a team of officials to Uttarkashi to coordinate rescue operations and is in constant communication with the Uttarakhand government, closely monitoring the evolving situation. Responding to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's directives, arrangements have been made to send the relatives of the trapped workers to the tunnel site.
The individuals currently trapped include Phulachand Bhadra of Nabarangpur, Bimala Nayak, Biseswar Nayak, and Chittaranjan Nayak of Mayurbhanj, and Tapan Mandal of Bhadrak. The ongoing efforts to rescue the workers trapped for thirteen days continue.
