BJD nominates Saluga Pradhan for Odisha Assembly Deputy Speaker election

Bhubaneswar, Nov 20: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has put forth the name of Saluga Pradhan, the MLA representing G. Udayagiri, as its nominee for the Deputy Speaker position in the Odisha Assembly. Today, Pradhan officially submitted his nomination for the upcoming election, which is scheduled to take place on November 21.
In anticipation of the election, the Assembly secretary has communicated to all Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), urging their attendance at a meeting slated for 9:30 am on November 21. The purpose of the gathering is to facilitate the election process for the Deputy Speaker position.
This development follows the resignation of Rajani Kant Singh from the Deputy Speaker role earlier this month. Singh stepped down to allocate more time to his responsibilities within the organizational framework of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
