Puri, Nov 14: The cumbersome wait for cremation registrations at Swargadwar in Puri is now a thing of the past, thanks to the newly introduced online registration system for the final rites of departed loved ones.

In an initiative launched by the Puri district administration on Diwali, a dedicated website, https://swargadwar.com/, has been established to facilitate all services available at Swargadwar. The comprehensive information provided on the website is accessible in three languages: Odia, Hindi, and English.

Beneficiaries can now smoothly arrange the cremation of their close ones by submitting all necessary details through this dedicated online platform. Moreover, the Swargadwar Sanskar Sevaks, who offer assistance to those visiting Swargadwar for cremation procedures, will receive financial support for weddings and funerals.

The website is currently in its trial phase and will be adjusted as per the evolving requirements. Additionally, Puri Sub Collector Bhavataran Sahu, serving as the Ex-Officio Convener-cum-Secretary of the Swargdwar Seva Samity, mentioned plans for the imminent availability of the Swargadwar app on the Google Play Store.

It's noteworthy that a similar website, https://www.swargadwara.com/, was introduced several years ago, catering to diverse services related to cremation procedures at Swargadwar in Puri.
