Rohit Sharma's six-spree shatters records in ODI World Cup

Bengaluru, Nov 12: During India's recent ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 match against the Netherlands, Rohit Sharma carved his name into the record books.
The Indian skipper claimed a new milestone by hitting the most sixes in ODIs within a calendar year. His 92-meter colossal six off Colin Ackermann marked his 59th of the year, surpassing the previous record set by AB de Villiers in 2015.
In addition to this feat, Rohit secured a captaincy record, surpassing Eoin Morgan's 2019 tally, reaching 23 sixes in this World Cup alone.
Rohit Sharma further matched the legendary Sachin Tendulkar's record for scoring 500+ runs in World Cup editions. Notably, both Rohit (2019 & 2023) and Tendulkar (1996 & 2003) achieved this milestone in two editions.
Rohit also made history as the first player to achieve 500-plus runs in consecutive World Cup editions, further solidifying his position as a standout player in the cricketing world.
