Fake certificate: Another teacher arrested in Odisha's Balangir district

Balangir, Nov 11: Another school teacher in Odisha's Balangir district has been arrested for securing a job using fraudulent certificates.
Bhakta Kumar Seth, who assumed the role of a Science teacher at Pallishri Nodal High School in Duduka under Agalpur block in August 2022, had presented a BEd certificate and mark sheet from Chaudhury Charan Singh University in Uttar Pradesh during his recruitment.
As part of the ongoing scrutiny of educators' documents due to a counterfeit certificate racket, Seth's credentials came under review, uncovering the falsity of his BEd certificate. Acting on the directive of Balangir's collector, the district education officer (DEO) filed a case at Balangir Town police station. Subsequently, Seth was apprehended from Loisingha by the police, according to Biswajit Manbodh, the IIC of the police station.
This incident follows the DEO's earlier complaint in August against four teachers for presenting false certificates. The DEO instructed the school headmasters to issue show-cause notices to these teachers in response to the lodged complaint.
