One killed, six injured as family’s Puri pilgrimage ends in road accident in Bargarh
Bhubaneswar, Oct 5: A family’s journey from Indore to Puri Jagannath Dham turned tragic after their vehicle met with an accident in Bargarh district on Monday, leaving one person dead and six others injured.
According to reports, the accident occurred near Madhupur under Sohela block when the vehicle carrying the family lost control and crashed into a roadside tree. The impact was severe, resulting in the death of one person at the spot.
Six other family members sustained injuries in the accident and were subsequently rescued and shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Three of the injured persons were admitted to a private hospital in Sohela, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
The remaining three injured persons, whose condition was reported to be critical, were shifted to a private hospital in Bargarh for further treatment. Medical teams are monitoring their condition.
The family was reportedly travelling from Indore to Puri for a pilgrimage to the Shree Jagannath Temple when the accident occurred.
Following the mishap, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The damaged vehicle has been seized as part of the probe. Police are examining the circumstances that led to the driver losing control of the vehicle and crashing into the tree.
Further details regarding the identity of the deceased and injured persons are awaited as the investigation continues.
