Bhubaneswar, Sep 21: A 59-year-old forest department official was found dead inside his government-allotted residence in Balangir district of Odisha on Sunday, prompting police to initiate an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.

The deceased has been identified as Byasadev Sahu, who was serving as a Forester in the Balangir Forest Range. According to reports, Sahu was residing in the staff quarters located behind the Forest Range Office.

His colleagues reportedly found him inside the quarters on Sunday evening. After noticing the incident, they informed the police, following which a team reached the spot and began preliminary investigation.
