Portion of under-construction building collapses at Delta Square in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, Sep 7: A portion of an under-construction building reportedly collapsed at Delta Square in Bhubaneswar late on Sunday night, raising concerns that several workers present at the construction site may have sustained injuries.
According to preliminary reports, a section of the structure suddenly caved in while construction work was underway. Several workers were reportedly present at the site at the time of the incident, and some of them are suspected to have been injured. However, the exact number of injured workers was not immediately known.
The incident reportedly created panic in the area, with local residents saying they heard a loud noise before learning about the collapse. People gathered near the site soon after the incident.
The exact cause of the structural collapse has not yet been ascertained. Authorities are expected to examine the construction site and assess whether any safety or structural issues contributed to the incident.
The incident occurred a day after a building collapse in Delhi’s Satya Niketan area reportedly claimed seven lives, adding to concerns over construction-site safety.
