Bhubaneswar, Aug 6: Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. Raipur (North) MLA Purandar Mishra was also present during the meeting.

The leaders held wide-ranging discussions on strengthening cooperation between the two neighbouring states, with a focus on mutual development, regional connectivity, and the welfare of the Odia community residing in Chhattisgarh. They also exchanged views on promoting cultural ties and enhancing people-to-people relations through greater collaboration.

Sharing details of the meeting on social media, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi said the interaction was cordial and productive, highlighting the importance of inter-state cooperation in achieving inclusive growth. He noted that discussions covered issues of common interest, including infrastructure development, improved connectivity, cultural exchange, and measures to safeguard the interests of Odia people living in Chhattisgarh.

The meeting is considered significant as Odisha and Chhattisgarh share a long interstate border and have several common priorities, including infrastructure expansion, trade, tribal welfare, and regional development. Both sides expressed optimism about further strengthening bilateral coordination and working together on initiatives that would benefit the people of both states while fostering closer cultural and economic ties.
