CM Mohan Majhi meets Ashwini Vaishnaw, seeks faster railway projects for Odisha
Bhubaneswar, July 31: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday met Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi to discuss the expansion of railway infrastructure and the speedy implementation of key rail projects in the state.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the progress of ongoing railway initiatives and held detailed discussions on expediting new railway line projects to improve connectivity across Odisha. The focus remained on strengthening regional and industrial connectivity to facilitate economic growth, attract investments and enhance transportation facilities for people and industries.
Sharing details of the meeting on his X handle, Chief Minister Majhi described the interaction as constructive and said both leaders discussed measures to accelerate railway development in Odisha. He noted that improved rail connectivity would play a crucial role in boosting industrial growth, promoting balanced regional development and enhancing logistics infrastructure across the state.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need for faster execution of ongoing railway projects, particularly in industrial belts and tribal-dominated regions, to ensure better last-mile connectivity and improve access to economic opportunities.
Majhi expressed confidence that with the continued support of the Union government, Odisha would witness rapid infrastructure growth and move steadily towards becoming a developed and prosperous state. The meeting forms part of the Chief Minister's four-day visit to New Delhi to pursue key development priorities and seek greater central support for Odisha's infrastructure projects.
