Police examine call records and digital evidence in IIC Beauty Mohanty death case
Bhubaneswar, July 17: The investigation into the mysterious death of Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Beauty Mohanty has gathered pace, with the Commissionerate Police closely examining call records, digital evidence and financial transactions to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rishikesh Khilar on Friday said that the call details of one of Beauty Mohanty's mobile phones have been received from the State Forensic Science Laboratory. Police are still awaiting the forensic report of her second mobile phone, which is expected to provide additional leads in the case.
According to the DCP, three special teams of the Commissionerate Police are conducting a comprehensive investigation. The teams are analysing the postmortem report, mobile phone records, digital evidence and other available materials to piece together the sequence of events.
Police have also scrutinised the deceased officer's bank transactions to determine whether there was any financial angle linked to the case. However, investigators said that no suspicious financial transactions have been detected so far.
As part of the investigation, officers are questioning people who had been in regular contact with Beauty Mohanty over the phone in the days leading up to the incident. Their statements are expected to help investigators understand her recent activities and interactions.
Despite examining multiple pieces of evidence, police said they have not yet found any conclusive clue regarding the exact cause or circumstances of Beauty Mohanty's death. The investigation remains underway, and officials said all possible angles are being explored before drawing any conclusions.
