Bhubaneswar, June 30: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Odisha on a two-day tour from July 4, during which he will inaugurate a major ethanol plant in Bargarh, lay foundation stones for several development projects in Sambalpur and participate in a series of public programmes.
State Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari said Shah will arrive at Jharsuguda Airport on July 4 before travelling by road to Bargarh. There, he will inaugurate a state-of-the-art ethanol plant built at an investment of ₹1,750 crore. The project is expected to boost industrial growth, create employment opportunities and strengthen the region's agro-based economy.
Following the inauguration, the Union Home Minister will address a public gathering in Bargarh, where he is expected to highlight the Centre's developmental initiatives and vision for Odisha. After completing his engagements in the district, Shah will travel to Sambalpur and stay there overnight.
On July 5, Amit Shah will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several key infrastructure and development projects in Sambalpur. He will also address another public meeting organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), where senior state leaders and party workers are expected to participate in large numbers.
The visit is considered politically significant as it comes amid the BJP government's continued focus on accelerating development projects and strengthening its organisational base in Odisha. After concluding his engagements in Sambalpur, the Union Home Minister will return to New Delhi.
