Bhubaneswar, May 21: In a harrowing security breach that has sparked widespread public fury, a minor girl was allegedly raped inside the Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital premises. The victim was staying at the government facility as an attendant for an ailing relative.

According to law enforcement, the horrific incident unfolded when the main accused, 24-year-old Raja Besan of Buromal Gauntiapada, targeted the minor after spotting her alone. He was reportedly assisted by two accomplices, Akash Pradhan (20) and a woman named Trupti Nayak (19), who helped orchestrate the brutal assault.

Following an official complaint filed at the Airport Police Station, a special task force led by Inspector-in-Charge Prashant Kumar Sethy launched an immediate crackdown. Police registered a case under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act alongside relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Raids conducted on Wednesday led to the swift arrest of Akash and Trupti. Armed with critical inputs, police later intercepted and nabbed Raja as he attempted to flee the area. All three suspects have been produced before the court. Meanwhile, the victim underwent a mandatory medical examination as further investigations continue.
