Nitin Nabin Begins Two-Day Odisha Visit, Focus on Party Strengthening

Bhubaneswar: Bharatiya Janata Party national president Nitin Nabin arrived in Bhubaneswar on Sunday night for a crucial two-day visit to Odisha, marking his first official tour to the state after taking charge of the party at the national level. The visit is being viewed as significant for the BJP’s organisational strategy in Odisha ahead of upcoming political and electoral activities.

According to party sources, Nabin reached the Odisha capital late in the evening and was welcomed at the airport by several senior BJP leaders and workers. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, state BJP president Manmohan Samal and other prominent leaders were present to receive him at the airport. Despite the enthusiasm among party supporters, the BJP leadership decided to keep the reception simple without organising a large public roadshow or grand procession.

During his visit, the BJP national president is expected to participate in a series of high-level organisational meetings aimed at reviewing the party’s functioning in Odisha. Senior leaders and office bearers from different districts are likely to attend the discussions, where emphasis will be placed on strengthening grassroots-level activities, expanding party outreach, and preparing future political strategies in the state.

One of the major highlights of Nabin’s Odisha visit will be his participation in the inauguration of the “Pandit Deendayal Prashikshan Maha Abhiyan-2026,” a large-scale party training programme being organised near Jatni. The initiative is aimed at training BJP workers and equipping them with organisational skills, communication strategies, and ideological understanding to improve coordination at booth and district levels.

Party leaders said the training programme reflects the BJP’s focus on building a stronger organisational structure in Odisha, where the party has been steadily expanding its political influence in recent years. The visit of the national president is also expected to motivate party workers and provide direction for future campaigns.

Apart from organisational engagements, Nabin is also expected to visit the famous Shree Jagannath Temple during his stay in Odisha. BJP leaders described the temple visit as a personal and spiritual part of his tour.

Political observers believe the visit carries added importance as the BJP seeks to consolidate its position in Odisha following recent electoral successes. Meetings with senior leaders are likely to focus on governance coordination, public outreach programmes, and preparations for upcoming elections at various levels.

Security arrangements were tightened in Bhubaneswar and nearby areas in view of the BJP chief’s arrival. Party workers from several districts also gathered in the capital to welcome him and participate in scheduled organisational events over the next two days.
