Balugaon to host first-ever Chilika Book Fair from April 24
Bhubaneswar, April 16: Balugaon town in Khordha district is gearing up to host the inaugural Chilika Book Fair from April 24 to April 28, marking a significant step towards promoting literary culture in the region.
The five-day event will be organised at Balugaon College, situated along the scenic banks of Chilika Lake. A preparatory meeting was recently held under the chairmanship of Prithiviraj Harichandan at his residence to finalise arrangements.
Members of the Cuttack and Bhubaneswar Publishers’ Association attended the meeting and confirmed their participation. They also shared suggestions to ensure the fair’s success. Around 80 stalls will be set up by reputed publishers from across Odisha, offering a diverse collection of books for readers of all ages and interests.
In addition to book stalls, food counters will be arranged to enhance the visitor experience. The fair will be inaugurated on April 24 by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida along with the Law Minister.
The initiative is expected to attract book lovers, students, and tourists, while fostering a vibrant reading culture in the Chilika region.
