Infant snatched from railway platform in Khordha
Bhubaneswar, April 8: In a shocking incident, a four-month-old baby boy was allegedly stolen from the platform of Nirakarpur Railway Station under the Khordha Railway Division, triggering panic and concern among passengers.
According to a complaint lodged at the Government Railway Police (GRP) station in Nirakarpur, the incident took place when the child’s parents were resting on the platform with their infant son. The mother was reportedly holding the baby in her lap when an unidentified miscreant suddenly snatched the child and fled from the spot.
The incident left the family in shock, as they immediately raised an alarm and sought help from authorities present at the station.
Following the complaint, the Railway Police have registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation. Efforts are underway to trace the accused and locate the missing infant at the earliest.
Officials said CCTV footage from the station and nearby areas is being examined to identify the suspect and track movement after the crime.
The incident has raised serious concerns over passenger safety and security arrangements at railway stations in the region, prompting calls for heightened vigilance and preventive measures.
